 Identity theft occurs when one person falsifies their own identity or credentials by substituting it with someone else's. There are many forms of identification theft. Identity theft can range from the unauthorized use of another person's username and password to access an account, to stealing another individual's drivers license and modifying it to disguise the thief's identity.
